God’s Imprint

Have you ever noticed that when people create something, they leave their imprint on it? For example, if you look at the painting of Mona Lisa, you can see that Leonardo Da Vinci painted it. Or if you listen to the 1812 Overture, you can recognize that Tchaikovsky was the author. Or listening to the song Here Comes the Sun reminds you that it was written by the Beatles. In each case the person who created these things, left a kind of imprint on what they created. This imprint represents them and tells us something about that person or conveys something to us they wanted us to understand. The same thing is true of God. He left his imprint on all the things around us.

” For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

Romans 1:20

Right now, we cannot clearly see this imprint on the things around us. However, by studying what God’s word says about things, we can see a reflection of this imprint. In the process, we can gain a better understanding of God and our world.

“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”

1 Corinthians 13:12

For some years now, I have been studying the Bible and trying to understand the links between God’s word and the animals, plants, people and things around us. This website includes a collection of my studies. It is an attempt on my part to share with others some of the things I have learned. I am not a theologian or a pastor. I do not have a degree from a seminary or Bible college. In fact, my degrees are in zoology and biology. Nevertheless, I believe that you may find some gems here that might help you to grow in your knowledge of God. It is my hope that in reading these studies you can not only learn some things but also enjoy what God has given us in his word.
